This is odd as the preview is correct and every other scanner I've used scan virtually perfect colours (ie: the same as the original).This is an online installation software to help you to perform initial setup of your printer on a PC (either USB connection or network connection) and to install various software. The printer/scanner does operate with USB, but the scan colour is poor. I don't know if my choice in accepting the firmware "upgrade" option the printer offered soon after the initial wireless setup on the printer was a wise decision. Repeating this excruciating process with minor variations is driving me nuts. Selecting this results in more searching and failure to find any printer. ![]() The network "tool" (possibly me) insists on connecting via USB, but after the password point, fails to find anything on the network and suggests manual setup which eventually comes back with a greyed out option that has the actual network info of the printer. I just tried setting up a 7160 and after all the software installs, the canon network tool can't find anything, even though I've previously set up the printer from its panel and made a couple of prints from the pad. Not sure if you really need to start by removing the printer, but that is what I did.Ĭongrats on being able to install the canon. I just tried all the above and I can still scan wirelessly. Click OK and you should get a confirmation message. This should give you a screen titled Setup Completion showing the Model: MG700 series and the Nework (SSID), your router. When you have located the printer use Update, then Configuration. This is quite possible as the Canon Help is quite Unhelpful on the matter.įirst of all, delete the printer from the printer preferences. Assuming you have all the software for the printer drivers downloaded (there is a complet package on the Canon website), including Canon IJ Scan Utility2.app, and that your printer has the latest firmware, then I can only conclude that either you have a problem that I do not understand (most probable) or that somehow you did not complete all the operations necessary. ![]()
